The objective of this work is to evaluate the performance of the treatment and purification station (WWTP) of the city of AïnTaoujdate, natural lagoon type. For this, we carried out a set of monthly measurements during the year 2018 of physicochemical parameters: temperature, pH, conductivity, dissolved dioxygen, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and suspended solids (SS). The results obtained show that: - the average flow is greater than the nominal design flow of the station; - Wastewater, treated in the treatment plant in the city of AïnTaoujdate, contains a large polluting load; - the average pollution abatement yields are 44.71% for suspended solids, 51.59% for COD and 49.01% for BOD5. Thus, the treatment of wastewater in the AïnTaoujdate WWTP is insufficient to lower pollutant concentrations and reduce the health risk to an acceptable level.
