Abstract

The main aim of this research was to appraise impacts of vermicompost combined with foliar fertilizer HiBoron 7-14 on yield components and yield of rice OM 4900in two crops of 2022-2023. The field study, which was designed in Chau Thanh town, An Giang province, Vietnam, embraced four treatments and four repeats. four treatments of crop 1 (Winter-Spring): (R1) N, P, K (85 kg Urea: 45 kg P2O5: 45 kg K2O per ha); (R2): Co-application of N, P, K and spraying foliar fertilizer Hi-Boron 7-14; (R3): Co-application of N, P, K and vermicompost (2.0 tons/ha); (R4): Co-application of N, P, K + vermicompost (2.0 tons/ha) and spraying foliar fertilizer Hi-Boron 7-14. Four treatments (R5, R6, R7 and R8) of crop 2 (Summer-Autumn) were carried out the prior basis of crop 1 (Winter-Spring). However, all treatments of crop 2 were applied by 85 kg Urea: 45 kg P2O5: 45 kg K2O per ha (without amendment of vermicompost and spraying foliar fertilizer Hi-Boron 7-14). The studied results presented that co-application of treatment R4 N, P, K, vermicompost (2.0 tons/ha); and spraying foliar fertilizer Hi-Boron 7-14 in crop 1, which increased rice shoots, panicle/m2 , grains/panicle and yield higher than those of control (R1). In crop 2 (Summer – Autumn), yield components of rice Jasmine in treatments of amended application of vermicompost and spraying foliar fertilizer Hi-Boron 7-14 raised higher than those of control treatment (R5), although the weight of 1,000 grains was insignificant differences. The yield of treatment R4 (Winter-Spring) and treatment R8 (summer – autumn) increased 11.3 and 14.9%, respectively, compared to R1 and R5 (application of N, P, K fertilizers only) in two crops.
