There has been an increase rate of urban crimes in populated areas. It ascertains the importance of advanced solutions that are adopted for crime distribution and management in density areas. Crime mapping is an integral and an essential part of crime monitoring, control and management. For this purpose, the study evaluates crime data applying geographic information system (GIS) tool to sketch crime hotspots in Islamabad city, the capital of Pakistan. The results of this study explain that the GIS mapping, clusters and crime locations help a lot to curb the criminal activities from the study areas. It proves helpful for the police to identify the place where there are high chances of criminal activities. This study shows that industrial area is under the influence of high level of crimes. This spatial analysis of crime paves the policy interventions for policing in urban areas.
