Abstract

Leachate produced at landfills is a great danger to the environment. In order to answer the questions of a healthy environment, a physico-chemical analysis of the leachate was carried out. Samples were taken between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at various locations in the OuladBerjal landfill during the period from August 2019 to July 2020. The parameters studied are: temperature, hydrogen potential, electrical conductivity, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, COD/BOD5 ratio, nitrate, ammonium and sulfate. The results of leachate analyzes that were carried out revealed levels that do not comply with Moroccan standards for direct and indirect discharges, in terms of temperature, hydrogen potential, electrical conductivity, biological oxygen demand and chemical demand. Oxygen Thus the values of the BOD5/COD ratio show that the leachate from OuladBerjal is not biodegradable.
